Summer Walker Announces ‘Girls Need Love (Girls Mix)’ EP With Victoria Monét And More
Summer Walker has teamed up with some of music’s emerging female artists for her upcoming EP “Girls Need Love (Girls Mix),” set to hit DSPs later this week.
“Girls Need Love (Girls Mix”) will be available on Friday (Oct. 20) and features three remixes of the track, featuring Victoria Monét, Tyla, and Tink, the Atlanta native announced on Monday (Oct 16).
Walker tweeted the project’s album cover on X, formerly known as Twitter—a March 4, 2019, tweet of her asking fans to “text ur man ‘I just need some d–k with no complications’ and tweet me his reply lol” with a parental advisory sign alongside her collaborators.
The EP serves as an extension to her hit 2018 “Girls Need Love” record from her “Last Day of Summer” album and a thank you to her fans who’ve supported her since her breakthrough five years ago.
The original solo version of “Girls Need Love,” an acoustic version of the track, and the official music video was also released on Monday and will be included on the EP. The visual is exclusively on Apple Music.
Following its release in 2018, the song peaked at No. 44 on the Billboard 200 and spent 35 weeks on the chart. It also received a remix featuring Grammy Award-winning rapper Drake.
