BET Talks: Fat Joe Looks Back On His Past Fits At The BET Hip Hop Awards
He’s back!
Fat Joe is returning for a second consecutive year as host for the 2023 BET Hip Hop Awards and will also co-executive produce the ceremony. As we celebrate 50 years of hip-hop, we had to get the Bronx native to pull up who is ready to tear the house down this year.
“Hip hop is my life, and I’m extremely proud to return as host of ‘BET Hip Hop Awards’ 2023,” Fat Joe said. “We’re going to make this year’s award show even bigger while also celebrating our hip-hop stars and pioneers in a spectacular way. It’s going to be a legendary night of music and entertainment and you’re not going to want to miss it.”
In a fun conversation with BET.com, the Terror Squad member goes down memory lane, and comments on his past looks at the Hip Hop Awards.
In the first look, we see the ‘Lean Back’ rapper in a large red bandana-designed puffer jacket, to which he shared that people were “shocked” when they saw him sporting the outfit on stage and even shared the unbelievable cost.
“This jacket was like a $30,000 Givenchy coat off the runway and I had to have it,” the 53-year-old said.
“I matched it with a Bottega t-shirt, kept it very icey, and had some red leather pants. That was a real fly outfit. That coat was so mean – it’s a beautiful piece.”
