Twitter Is Hating (and Loving) Madonna for Adopting Twins From Malawi

The pop icon is expanding her family.

Madonna has officially confirmed that the rumors of her adopting twin Malawian girls are true.

The 58-year-old music icon took to social media to share the news. She was approved by the court system in the African country earlier this week to adopt the sisters.

The 4-year-old twins, Stella and Esther, are the third and fourth children she has adopted from Malawi. She adopted her son, David, and daughter, Mercy, from the country in 2006 and 2009, respectively.

  • The confirmation of the adoption comes after Madonna insisted, last month, that she was not doing so, but simply doing work with her charity.

She received loads of criticism following her adoption of her son, David, from the country in 2006, so many believe she lied to keep a low profile on the matter.
