Jadakiss Talks Staying Relevant in Hip Hop

Kiss touts his appearance on Lil Wayne’s Carter IV.

Jadakiss may be a 15-year veteran of the rap game, but the Yonkers emcee is still doling out bangers. Kiss, who is featured with Drake on a song from Lil Wayne's forthcoming blockbuster Tha Carter IV, told XXLMag.com that it feels good to be considered relevant among the new generation of artists.
“I feel blessed to still be here,” Jada said. "To get called for Tha Carter IV, for [Lil Wayne] being able to recognize that I can help on one of the songs on his album with my mechanics is a beautiful thing. I respect his ear... Especially coming out of jail, he could have called anybody.”
As both an artist and a fan of hip hop, Jada said he had been heartened to find bloggers and music fans still taking notice of his lyrical miracles.
"When I can read a blog and they said ‘Holy s**t, Kiss just murdered this song wit Lil Tunechi,’ I’m like ‘Yeah, y’all recognize now.’ Like a professor who’s been trying to get that one math problem across to his students for an entire semester then they get it at the end. It’s a beautiful thing.”
The Raspy One is currently working on his fourth solo album Top 5 Dead Or Alive.
