Naughty by Nature's Treach Arrested in New Jersey
Treach, of the hip hop trio Naughty by Nature, was arrested in Union City, New Jersey, Friday (April 11) for eluding police, reports NJ.com.
According to the criminal complaint, the Grammy award-winning recording artist, whose legal name is Anthony Criss, was driving a vehicle on either a street or highway prior to his arrest. He reportedly disregarded police signaling for him to stop the car and was also speeding down several blocks in a heavy-traffic area, authorities say.
The 43-year-old was taken into custody and has already made a court appearance on the charge.
Bail was set at $15,000, but Treach must clear up a child support debt in New Jersey's Passaic County before he is released. The rapper has a daughter with hip hop star Sandra "Pepa" Denton of the group Salt-N-Pepa. It is not clear whether the case in question is related to that child.
No other details about the arrest have been publicized.
His attorney, Darryl Smith, had no comment on the matter.
