Chlöe Bailey Cries After Accidentally Eating Beef for First Time in 10 Years

The singer and actress and her sister have been vocal about their long vegan journeys.

Chlöe Bailey said she broke down in tears when she and her sister, Halle Bailey, were mistakenly served red meat after ordering room service from a hotel.

The singer and actress shared the story during an Instagram Live this past weekend.

“So I called to get a Beyond Burger for [Halle Bailey] and I like usual. Specified that it’s vegan, no butter on the bun, nothing like that," Bailey said in the video, which was reposted by The Independent.

“So we get the burgers, I’m getting out of the shower… and she’s eating the burger and she’s like, ‘Are you sure this is Beyond?’” Chlöe continued, “I touched the patty and smelled it and was like, ‘Of course it’s Beyond, yeah’. So I finish getting dressed, I take a bite and the juice dripping from the burger is not like a Beyond burger. I just knew it was not a fake burger."

She added, “The one bite I took and I just knew. Immediately I said, ‘This doesn’t feel right’.”

Chlöe said that once she reached out to the hotel staff, the concierge informed her that the burgers they were served were not Beyond burgers.

“Immediately I’m losing my s***. I gobbled down a whole can of Sprite. Halle’s laughing at me because I’m crying. This is right before the concert yesterday. I’m crying, Halle’s just laughing so hard at me because I’m freaking out," she recounted.

She added, “I’ve been vegan for 10 years. I have not consumed any red meat for 10 years."

Both Chlöe and Halle have been outspoken about being vegan. Earlier this year, PETA named Halle as one of the Most Beautiful Vegan Celebrities of 2023.

According to The Independent, Halle said that she and her sister changed their diets because of their mother. She explained: “One day, she was like, ‘I’m gonna try to be vegetarian for a week. You can join me if you’d like.’ We started the week with her and just never went back.”

It does look like Chlöe and Halle had a better ending to their weekend. A video of them jamming out to "Church Girl" by Beyoncé at her Atlanta tour stop went viral this weekend.
