The new Ariel debuted in May at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, Disneyland Resort in California, and Disneyland Paris.

Thanks to a new Ariel at Disney parks, core memories are being created.

A recently surfaced clip is making its rounds on TikTok, showing a young girl dressed as a princess meeting Disney Princess Ariel—inspired by Halle Bailey’s character in the new live-action remake of The Little Mermaid.

In the post, Ariel, spotted wearing a blue dress similar to the one Bailey wore in the film, could be heard asking the girl, “Do you want to walk over this way with me?”

The pair then ventured to the photo area, where Ariel told the little parkgoer, “I quite like those sandals you’ve got on today. They show off your feet nicely, don’t they?” before smiling for the photo.

The heartwarming moment was captured by the little girl’s mother, @disgirlmagic, who could be heard in the background yelling, “Oh my goodness. It’s Ariel!” She captioned the post, “LIVE ACTION ARIEL IS HERE!!!!!!” adding, “Look at my baby’s FACE!! Omg. Elsewhere the mom wrote, “Oh my HEART!!! The @halle IMPACT!! Ariel is now at Walt Disney World!”

In another post sharing a more extended version of the exchange, the mom highlighted the importance of representation, stating, “Live-Action Ariel has arrived at Disney Parks, and I don’t have the words to describe how good this feels as a Black girl who never got the opportunity to meet a Black Princess as a child.”

The video eventually caught the attention of Disney Parks, who reacted to the clip, writing, “Okay we’re crying now” stamped with the “holding back tears” and “heart hands” emojis.

Disney’s The Little Mermaid continues to make a splash at the box office earning over $300 million internationally following Memorial Day weekend. The movie is currently out in theaters.
