One of the five Dallas police officers assassinated on Thursday during a protest had a chance encounter with a major Hollywood star months before his tragic death, and he recorded the moment with a selfie, sharing it on social media.
Officer Patrick Zamarripa ran into Oscar-winning actor Cuba Gooding Jr. with his partner back in February. The officer, who was an avid Twitter user, posted the selfie, which you can see below, thanking Cuba for stopping to take the photo with them.
His last tweet, posted on July 4, read, "Happy Birthday to the greatest country on the face of this planet. My beloved America!"
