Here's the Reason Yandy Smith and Mendeecees Aren't Legally Married

Someone close to their family cleared things up.

It was reported earlier this week that Love & Hip Hop: New York couple Mendeecees Harris and Yandy Smith aren't actually legally married despite their huge wedding special that aired on VH1.

Now, a source close to the Harris family is explaining just why things aren't government approved between the two just yet.

"They couldn't send their marriage certificate off because Mendeecees' plea deal had not yet been finalized," the source said, according to The Shade Room. "They have re-registerd, though, so the marriage will be finalized soon."

On the last episode of LHHNY, Yandy dropped the bomb to a couple of her friends. "I have a union with Mendeecees, but I did not go into a parternship with Mendeecees and the government," she said.

Though the reason for this is now out in the open, nothing has been officially revealed on the show yet. The source, however, revealed that more will be explained in the episodes to come.

See what Yandy did for Mendeecees before he went away to prison in the video, above.
