John Legend Wins His First Tony Award

He's just an Emmy shy of EGOT status.

John Legend continues to win at life.

The musician added another prestigious award to his mantle on Sunday night as he took home the Tony Award as producer of the play revival Jitney.

John's major win lands him in a coveted spot in his career as he is one step closer to EGOT (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, Tony) status. The "Glory" crooner has already earned an Oscar two years ago for co-writing the Best Original Song winner "Glory" with Common for the movie Selma. In addition to that, he has also earned 10 Grammys throughout his career, thus far.

He and his wife, Chrissy Teigen, both took to Twitter following his big win to share their excitement:

Legend was one of eight producers of Jitney, which earned six total nominations. The project only won the top prize, however, for Best Revival of a Play.
