Jay "Young Jeezy" Jenkins and Algernod "Plies" Washington

Young Jeezy and Plies both made big statements to raise awareness and bring support to the cause of the senseless killing of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin in Sanford, Florida. In the one month since Martin's death, millions have organized protests across the nation by wearing hooded sweatshirts, like the one that made Martin a target on February 26, 2012, and using social media to spread the message of justice like wildfire.

Rapper Jeezy told MTV VJ Sway during an interview, "As a community leader and a part of our culture, I feel like we all gotta get together and stop this. I have a son his age, and I feel like that could be any of our children.… I feel the racial line and the tension of it. I get it, but we’re gonna stand strong on the black and the brown side on this one. We’re gonna stand together."

Florida native Plies dedicated a song, "We Are Trayvon," which he released via Twitter today. Check out Plies's tribute here: http://t.co/uImhaMXV and read on to see what other celebs had to say.
