You've Never Seen This Gucci Mane Interview, But You Need To
A recently unearthed interview from 2006 has Gucci Mane talking to Vlad TV about a few topics after he successfully beat a murder case.
More recent Gucci interviews usually have him more tight-lipped, however since this one was more early on in his career, he was more excited to let the world know a lot about his background. If you didn’t know, Gucci is actually from Alabama, and he was big on education before hip hop.
"You can't be a doctor if you don't go to school for being a doctor,” he told the camera. “Me, I'm a rapper, so I deal a lot with words. So, I went to English class and I made A's in it because I knew one day I wanted to be a poet. I wanted be a rapper… I went to speech class... I practiced."
Also during the interview Guwop gave his thoughts on beef, snitching, which of course he’s against, and the importance of having a strong team around you.
Gucci Mane was released from prison last Thursday (May 26). He was supposedly slated for release on September 20, according to prison records. His three-year state sentence came after pleading guilty to aggravated assault for attacking a fan at an Atlanta nightclub. That sentence ran concurrently with a 39-month federal sentence from a 2014 conviction of possessing a firearm as a convicted felon.
