50 Cent and Donald Trump may or may not like each other, but they do have something in common.
Speaking with The Daily Beast recently, the Queens rapper spoke about his financial problems, as he filed for bankruptcy in July 2015, and compared himself to the GOP presidential candidate.
“[Trump] knows about it. He’s done it four times!” Fif joked. “Donald Trump… You know, what’s interesting is the court system doesn’t know the difference between what you can say in entertainment, and what you say under oath, so you have to be really careful with what you say.”
50 Cent was also asked to assess the possibility of Donald Trump being president of the United States. 50 is admittedly leaning toward supporting Hillary Clinton, but says Trump’s at least made a sound business decision in deciding to run.
“He’s someone who could potentially run America, so he’s already paid himself,” he stated. “You know how much they’ll pay Trump to do public speaking, whether he becomes the president or not? It’s already worth it!”
50 Cent reached a deal with some of his creditors in March and agreed to pay secured creditors 100 percent of what he owes and between 74 and 92 percent of what unsecured creditors are owed over five years. He reportedly also owes $855,000 in domestic support and $1.48 million in back taxes to the government.
Donald Trump has reportedly filed bankruptcy numerous times through some of the business ventures he’s taken on through the years. Hillary Clinton recently tweeted in a joking matter about his shady financial past, relaying, “.@realDonaldTrump has written a lot of books about business, but they all seem to end at Chapter 11.”
