This should be interesting.

T.I.’s dabbled with social issues in his music in the past but now he’s taking it to a whole other level.

Sitting down with Hot 97’s Ebro and Peter Rosenberg yesterday (July 21), the Atlanta rapper announced he’s dropping a new album, but before that, he’s got a project coming out next week exclusively on social justice, police brutality and Black Lives Matter.

“[My new album is] called The Dime Trap. It’s my 10th project and it’s dedicated to my day one fans. In my eyes it’s the second coming of trap music,” he exclaimed before revealing even more info about an even newer project. “Before you hear The Dime Trap, and I’m making an announcement here, I will be releasing a project next week. It is completely surrounded or inspired by the events and state of the nation right now today and it’s called Us or Else.”

T.I., who recently told everyone he’d rather be called Tip, then further explained the meaning behind the title and what fans can expect to hear on the project.

“That’s [as in] equality for us, or else. Unity for us, or else. Stop killing us, or else,” he detailed. “It’s basically my take on things that are going on, how we got here, why we’re here, speaking to the oppressor and just trying to put something out there, a platform for people to speak so we can address this and move past it. I can’t really go into the studio and write records about throwing money in the club. It just don’t feel responsible.”

It’s unclear as to when exactly Us or Else is slated for release. It’s also unknown as to how long the project is or if there will be a single dropped prior to the full thing hitting the e-shelves.
