Young Thug Is Changing His Name to Something Very Different

Say goodbye to Thugger.

The Artist Formerly Known As...
Young Thug is apparently on the verge of a name change. The rapper has come far with his stage name, but now that he's reached the top, he's ready for a change.  In a recent interview with Rap Radar podcast, 300 Entertainment's boss Lyor Cohen revealed that Thugger wants to go back to something closer to the name he was born with: Jeffery Lamar Williams.

"Young Thug is not going to be Young Thug anymore," Cohen said. "His new name is going to be 'No My Name Is Jeffery." He continued, "The reality is, when you see this commercial, you're all going to understand what we do here at 300. Because it's powerful images of what makes someone Young Thug and what the evolution and how someone is Jeffery. It's a circular thing, it's important. 'No, My Name is Jeffery' is on it's way. Please respect us to actually segue and utilize his name going forward because it's important."
Huh.

In addition to the name switch, the rapper took to Twitter to share a track list for his upcoming album also titled Jeffery.

Soo..is it Jeffery or No My Name Is Jeffery? Hard as it is to comprehend, sounds like it's the latter (at least according to Cohen). We've come to expect the unexpected from Thugg..uh, Jeffer...uh, No My Name Is Jeffery, but as long as his flow stays tight, we'll roll with it.
