Having someone as reputed in the hip-hop community as Kendrick Lamar in your corner is quite the reassuring compliment.
While King Kendrick may have been a bit under the influence of alcohol, he still spoke nothing but the truth as he urged Wayne to reconsider his decision and continue creating rap music.
“Public service announcement, n***a,” Lamar begins. “We in the motherf**king studio. 5:32 to be exact. N****s talkin’ bout squad up, that’s cliché! We going all the way back, when he was motherf**kin’ 16, 15 years old on some Hot Boy s**t. Day one…”
K. Dot then goes on to address the retirement rumors, offering his brutally honest opinion on the matter.
“N***a talking ’bout retiring and s**t,” he says. “F**k that, n***a! Retire, quitting rap, whatever you wanna call it, n***a. F**k that, n***a. I’m in the motherf**kin’ studio, n***a, doing motherf**king features, n***a. I seen you, 2007, 2008, I seen you knock out 10 motherf**king features in a row, back to back, n***a…F**k you talking bout, boy? This motherf**ker, man. No, n****a. No! No! No! No!”
Yup, it’s safe to say K. Dot was sippin' on a lil' something in the studio, but that doesn’t take away from the passionate and compelling argument he makes, touching on Wayne’s legacy and his natural ability to knock out guest verses with ease.
