Kanye West and Drake Wasted No Time Responding to Kid Cudi

Kanye West and Drake Wasted No Time Responding to Kid Cudi

This is starting to get out of hand.

It was only going to be a matter of time before Kanye West and Drake responded to Kid Cudi’s comments. In classic ‘Ye fashion, not only did we get his clapback quick, we got it during a rant at a show.

Yeezy was performing “I Don’t Like” at his Saint Pablo Tour tour stop in Tampa, Florida, when he abruptly stopped and decided to let the crowd know what he thought of Cudi’s slight of him and Drake.

"Kid Cudi, don't ever mention 'Ye name. I birthed you,” West yelled out to a stunned crowd. “We all dealing with that emo s**t all the time; me, [Plain] Pat, Don C. Don't ever mention 'Ye name. Don't try to say who I can do songs with. You mad 'cause I'm doing songs with Drake. Ain't nobody telling 'Ye who to do songs with. Respect the god!"

If you thought that was end, you’d be dead wrong. Kanye had more for the rapper who used to be his protegé. He would go on to describe why he’s doing more for the hip-hop world and Black community than most, and why he believes the Cleveland native should be lucky to be signed to his label.

"You know how many people wish they could be signed to G.O.O.D. Music, get they life changed? Have that opportunity? Never forget that. I'm so hurt. I feel so disrespected,” he said. “Kid Cudi, we're two Black men in a racist world. I wore skinny jeans first. I got called names before you, bruh. Why y'all got to come at me? This ain't the end of the Malcolm X movie. I'm out here fighting for y'all: creatives, artists, independent thinkers. Don’t never mention my name in a bad manner. None of y’all!”

Drake, to a much lesser extent, offered up his reply during the intermission of his set at Oakland’s Oracle Arena. Drizzy made use of the hook of O.T. Genasis’ gold-selling record, “Cut It,” and told the crowd, “Boy, you getting way too high, you need to Cud-iiiiiiit.”

He’s all about those subliminals.

Yesterday (September 14) Kid Cudi called out the music industry for being “fake” and called himself “the culture.” He says people in the rap game use each other and mentioned Drake and Kanye’s name among those who don’t care about him.
