There's no question that Nicki Minajhas dominated in the female rap arena for the past few years, and on Sunday at the 2014 BET Awards, she held tight to her reign as she took home Best Female Hip Hop Artist for the fifth straight year. During her acceptance speech, the Queens MC let the world know she sees no gender in rap competition and sent a bomb that seemed to be addressed to T.I.'s protégé Iggy Azalea.
"I thank God that I've been placed in a position to do something and represent women in a culture that is so male-driven and I want you to know this ... when you hear Nicki Minaj spit, Nicki Minaj wrote it," she said.
While Nicki didn't address anyone personally (she was up against Iggy, Eve, Angel Haze and Charli Baltimorein the category) Iggy, at least, had to defend her pen-game in the recent past. As the wait is on to see if a full battle will be waged, read on for more hip hop beefs that went down between the ladies over the years. — Alex Gale / Michael Harris (@IceBlueVA)
