SHORT CUTS: 50 Cent Lands "Spectacular" Role

Posted April 9, 2008 -- In the midst of a child support battle with his baby's mama, Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson is also negotiating to star in "Spectacular Regret" with Danny Huston, John Ortiz and Kelli Garner, reports Variety.

Jackson will play a death row inmate whose imminent execution has made him a cause celebre. The drama interconnects with four Angelenos struggling to overcome past events.

The independently financed drama was scripted by Joshua Leonard, who will make his dramatic feature debut as director. The film will shoot in July in L.A.

Mo'Nique Lands Radio Show

Syndication One has added comedian and actress Mo'Nique to its roster of radio personalities, which already includes Rickey Smiley, Yolanda Adams, Bishop TD Jakes, Donnie McClurkin and CoCo Brother, reports EUR.

"I love radio and being able to talk about issues that really concern my community,” says Mo'Nique.  “For me it’s all about the listeners, the community is my boss.  With my program, you'll have more fun, more real talk, and more love.”

The actress will host a daily show from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. EST. So far, the midday program has been added at KDAY in Los Angeles with a start date of July 23rd.
