Seventeen years ago today, Martin Lawrence’s stand-up comedy film, You So Crazy, debuted in theaters nationwide.  If you were over 18 or could at least sneak into a movie theater in 1994, you saw Lawrence’s You So Crazy.  He was already a phenomenon, but his raunchy stand-up caught on celluloid made him into a Richard Pryor or Eddie Murphy of the mid 90’s.  Rocking an all-leather suit, channeling Eddie Murphy’s attire from his stand-up days, Lawrence delivered some classic material.

Filmed at the Majestic Theatre in New York City, Martin tackled everything from relationships to sex to racism.  Directed by Thomas Schlamme (Ally McBeal, Spin City), You So Crazy grossed over 10 million at the box office and gave us some legendary quotes like, “Your job is to check coats -- check ‘em b**ch!”  "Craa-azy, dee-raaanged."
