For those who haven’t noticed, there’s been an unofficial connection between hit TV shows The Good Wife and The Wire.

Since Good Wife hit the air two years ago, 12 alum from the gritty HBO series have appeared on the show.  The reason? Robert King, co-creator of Good Wife, is a major fan of the urban drama, recently telling The Hollywood Reporter that he is not going to stop "until everyone from The Wire is on the show.”

Now he has tapped Seth Gilliam (a.k.a. The Wire's Sgt. Carver) to guest star in the show’s May 17 season finale. He will play a man on trial for killing a judge.

Seems Good Wife isn’t the only show dedicated to hiring actors from The Wire. Vulture.com pointed out that Wife had been in a dead heat with Law & Order: SVU for the title of TV series employing the most Wire grads. Gilliam’s casting now puts the CBS drama in first place.
