Jennifer Hudson Lands Book Deal

Despite reports of trouble finding a publisher, J-Hud will dish on weight issues.

Jennifer Hudson will be discussing her significant weight loss in a new book due for release in January 2012. Hudson’s new publisher, Dutton, an imprint of Penguin Books, announced the deal on Tuesday. The news comes about a week after reports surfaced that Hudson was finding trouble landing a publisher.

The alleged difficulty was centered on potential book publishers wanting the Oscar-winning actress and former American Idol contestant to open up about the violent deaths of her mother, brother and young nephew at the hands of her sister’s husband. Now that it’s official that Hudson has a book deal in place, fans can expect to read about Jennifer losing 80 pounds.

The New York Post reports that Jennifer’s yet untitled memoir will not discuss her family history. In a press release, Dutton said the book will “inspire anyone coping with weight issues, share some of her own best tips for losing and maintaining weight loss, fitting in exercise and keeping it fun and much more.”
