The past few days have been tough ones for the Black Eyed Peas when it comes to performances. Their New York City Summerstage performance in Central Park was canceled due to inclement weather. This annoyed legions of fans, about 20,000, who waited for hours to see the group, only to be sent away with nothing but the wet clothes on their backs.

Yesterday, the New York Daily News featured a photo of Will.i.am with a mic in one hand and a cell phone in the other. The image supposedly comes from a recent live performance the Peas gave on the French show Taratata. Unlike more seasoned performers who use teleprompters to help them with lyrics, the producer pulled out his phone. Again, this was a live tapping. One can only imagine what the producers and audience was thinking.
