Kimberly Elise traveled across borders to film a gripping drama, Ties That Bind, on location in Ghana.

Ties That Bind tells the story of three women from different walks of life, bound together by a similar pain—the loss of a child. In a destined meeting in a small village, the women journey together to find redemption, life and forgiveness as they renovate a dilapidated clinic for the villagers.

Directed by Leila Djansi, the film also features Nollywood star Omotola Jalade and Ghanaian actress Ama K Abebrese in what is said to be a multi-million dollar production, which Djansi describes as her biggest project yet.

No word on when the project will be released, but in the meantime check out the trailer above.
