Although fans continue to grow antsy about when Brandy will release new music, they can take at least take comfort in knowing the star is returning to one of her other noted pastimes. TV Guide reports that Brandy will be doing a three-episode stint on the popular Lifetime series Drop Dead Diva. The singer has signed on to appear in the season’s final three episodes.

She will play a sexy nurse named Elisa Shayne, the ex-girlfriend of attorney J. Parker. Brandy told the site, "Drop Dead Diva is on my favorites' list. And I am so thrilled that I get to be on it for at least three episodes. And such a juicy role!"

The show’s creator, Josh Berman, said this about the star: "When I met Brandy, I knew immediately she was perfect for this role. I just wanted to hug her—which is exactly how the audience will feel. She's sweet and warm and drop dead gorgeous! Plus, she was my favorite on Dancing With the Stars—along with our series regular Margaret Cho." Brandy’s stint on Drop Dead Diva can be seen on the show this September.
