Phylicia Rashad and Rosie Perez Join Gods Behaving Badly

The veteran actresses join ensemble cast for film adaptation of 2007 novel.

Tony Award-winning actress Phylicia Rashad, as well as Oscar nominee Rosie Perez and True Blood’s Nelsan Ellis, will be rounding out an all-star cast in the film adaptation of Gods Behaving Badly. The novel, penned by Marie Phillips, was released in 2007 and chronicles the story of the Greek Gods, alive and well and living in a brownstone in New York City. The satire, which begins shooting in July, features the gods and goddesses as fallen deities working menial jobs, such as phone-sex operators and dog walkers, like ordinary humans.

A bevy of acting heavyweights from the big and small screen are a part of the ensemble cast. Kate will be played by Alicia Silverstone and Neil by Ebon Moss-Bachrach. And per the press release, the gods are as follows: Aphrodite (Sharon Stone), Apollo (Oliver Platt), Artemis (Edie Falco), Demeter (Phylicia Rashad), Dionysus (Nelsan Ellis), Eros (Gideon Glick), Hades (John Turturro), Hermes (Henry Zebrowski), Persephone (Rosie Perez), and Zeus (Christopher Walken).
