Actor Anthony Mackie has brought a bit of New Orleans to Brooklyn.

The Hurt Locker star has opened a new lounge, NoBar, in New York City’s biggest borough. But the interesting part of his ownership is how much of a hand he put into building it. Reportedly an accomplished carpenter, Mackie told the New York Post that—except for the chairs—he built everything in the New Orleans-inspired watering hole.

"I wanted a nice local spot where I could relax, play pool or watch a game and get a beer for $5, so I just decided to open one," Mackie said.

NoBar is located at 608 Nostrand Avenue (between Pacific Street and Atlantic Avenue).
