The Bronx beauty may join the talent show for a second season.
Despite calling it quits with her husband Marc Anthony, Jennifer Lopez's career continues to soar.
The "On The Floor" singer is negotiating a new deal with FOX's "American Idol" series, where she serves as a judge. An undisclosed source told People that she is "very close" to signing up to return for a second season, kicking off in January.
"She really loved doing the show," the source said. "She says she’s doing it."
The chief executive officer of the company that produces "Idol" Cécile Frot-Coutaz did not confirm that Lopez was returning, but she did tell the Wall Street Journal, "We’re in good shape. No worries. No dark clouds on the horizon."
Lopez and Anthony announced their marital split earlier this month. The couple share three-year-old twins.
