Several pop stars will be featured in revamped comic books.
Beginning this month, pop culture fans can add another goodie to their collector's item pile. Bluewater Productions, a publishing company that focuses on comic books and graphic novels, is releasing five new books featuring five big-name celebrities.
As part of their biography comics division called FAME, the company is introducing special edition books of Michael Jackson, Black Eyed Peas, Britney Spears, 30, Twilight actor Taylor Lautner, 19, and Justin Bieber’s 19-year-old girlfriend Selena Gomez.
The King of Pop's book is coming out just in time for his birthday; he would have turned 53 on August 29. As for the Peas, Bluewater says their book focuses on "a young hip-hop hopeful [who] learns just what it takes to become the best while retracing the defining events in each of the band members' funkadelic lives.”
Although the publishing company has once before released graphic novels of these celebs, they have repackaged the artwork and story line and increased the content to 40 pages. Publisher Darren G. Davis says, "Each of these titles sold out during their initial release, but now we are nearly doubling the size of the book and giving fans and collectors more of what they want.”
The books are priced at $8.
