Ever since Montel Williams opened up about his battle with multiple sclerosis in 1999, he’s been a major marijuana advocate, claiming it helps ease the crippling pain caused by the disease.

In January BET.com reported that officials in a Milwaukee airport busted the 55-year-old when he attempted to carry his smoke pipe onto a plane. Eight months later, at LAX airport, Williams tells TMZ he’s been cleared of any wrongdoing. “It was completely thrown out of court. Nothing happened,” he says.

He goes on to explain, “Just like another person has to use a syringe, it’s a device I have to use for my medication.”

Even though he says his pipe tested negative for cannabis, he’s happy he was caught because, to him, it means that security did their job.
