La La Anthony Wants to Help LGBTs With Identity Issues

The reality star explores themes by featuring her cousin on "La La’s Full Court Life."

Like most reality show stars, La La Anthony has pretty much made her life an open book. On her VH1 series, La La’s Full Court Life, Anthony regularly spotlights her basketball star hubby Carmelo Anthony, son Kiyan, and BFFs Kim Kardashian, Kelly Rowland and Serena Williams. But Anthony tells Vibe Vixen one member of her inner circle who remains an “important” part of the show is her cousin Dice, a lesbian who is challenged by identity issues.

“My cousin Dice is a big part of my reality show and what’s important to me about Dice besides, obviously, that being my cousin and one of my best friends, is Dice is dealing with sexuality issues and different things like that,” says Anthony.

The former MTV host says she believes documenting Dice’s experience on La La’s Full Court Life could be helpful to others in the LGBT community. “I think it’s important to see things like that on television because you have a lot of people struggling with who they are and trying to find themselves and worrying about if people aren’t going to accept them, and it’s good that we touch on these issues on the show,” she says. “ I think that can help a lot of people.”
