Production is underway in New York for Gun Hill, a new original movie coming to BET starring Larenz Tate, Tawny Cypress and Aisha Hinds.

Tate plays a dual role in this two-hour police drama that centers around identical twins: one a cop and one a con. Their lives are intertwined one fateful night when the cop is killed and the con assumes his identity. Reggie Bythewood and Don Kurt, who worked together on the Fox drama series New York Undercover, are executive producers.

The project is also being considered, among other made for TV projects, for a full series as a push to bring more scripted television to the network.

"I was so pleasantly surprised when I heard that BET was moving into a genre that I thought they should be in for the longest time," Tate told Variety. They have an incredible audience that is loyal and supportive. I think these movies are going to serve that audience very well."
