Exclusive clip: Soulja Boy - The Movie

Soulja Boy fans can get a deeper look into the life and backstory of the rapper’s rise to stardom with his story, Soulja Boy –The Movie coming to DVD via Image Entertainment. 

Directed by Academy Award nominated director Peter Spirer (Notorious B.I.G. Bigger than Life, Tupac Shakur: Thug Angel), the film shines an unprecedented  light on the many facets of DeAndre Cortez Way—better known as Soulja Boy—and introduces his entourage, family and musical collaborators as it shows how he quickly boosted himself from obscurity to fame.

"Soulja Boy is undoubtedly one of the most creative, entrepreneurial hip hop artists I have ever dealt with,” said Spirer.  “His ability to monetize the internet and his grasp of social media is unparalleled.   I think sometimes the press, the public and his peers dismiss him due to lack of understanding or jealousy, and that’s where I hope my film comes in -- a straight forward intimate look at a talented young man."
