Fantasia: I'm "Pissed Off" About Mahalia Jackson Film Rumors!

The singer tells Wendy Williams she wasn't fired from the role.

Earlier this week rumors were swirling that Fantasia Barrino was in danger of invalid link: http:// https://www.bet.com/news/celebrities/2011/10/11/fantasia-barrino-may-get-booted-from-biopic.htmllosing her gig playing gospel legend Mahalia Jackson in a biopic. Allegedly, Jackson's family took offense to her becoming pregnant by an already married man. Now, Fantasia is using The Wendy Williams Show to express how "pissed off" she is about the false information being spread around.

“When I was watching and it came across,” Barrino told the talk show host over the phone on Tuesday, “I was ready to walk to New York. I almost went into labor, because it was the first time that I’ve heard anything about that. I haven’t spoken to the family, haven’t heard anything from the family.”

Barrino says that as far as she knows, she’s still in talks to star in the film and had been told that shooting would start sometime in January. She then revealed that the producers told her that the film’s investors had pulled out of the project.

“There were no contracts signed and there was no set date and time,” she says. “When this came out, I jumped out of my bed. I’m hoping this didn’t come from a producer, because again there’s no black and white. There’s nothing in black and white. We waited on them and they said the money didn’t come through.”

Not so black and white? Even Williams couldn't get the American Idol winner to talk about her relationship with baby-daddy Antwaun Cook, the married man who she has been dating on and off for more than a year and who reportedly skipped his wedding anniversary to be at her baby shower. Can you blame her for wanting to leave that sticky mess alone?
