Hours after Katt Williams was accused of theft by management at an Ohio-area Best Buy and questioned by local police, the comedian has been absolved of any wrongdoing.

A representative for the Hamilton County Sheriff's Department tells TMZ that Williams and his entourage were wrongly accused by store security, who claim they saw Williams' female companion trying to pocket merchandise. After a brief investigation, officers confirmed the accusations were unfounded and the woman was merely "putting her own property into her purse."

The cops did, however, find a small amount of marijuana in the lady's purse, but didn't appear to press any charges. "The entire group were cooperative and nothing else occurred," concludes the rep.
