Vin Diesel Confirms Two More Fast and Furious Movies

The sixth and seventh in the franchise are being written simultaneously.

Can't get enough speed or fury? Well, fans of the Fast and Furious franchise will have at least two more chances at an adrenaline spike. Vin Diesel, the star and producer of the decade-long franchise, confirmed to the Hollywood Reporter that there is another sequel in the works, and it will be split into two films, the sixth and seventh in the profitable series.

“With the success of this last one, and the inclusion of so many characters, and the broadening of scope, when we were sitting down to figure out what would fit into the real estate of number six, we didn’t have enough space,” Diesel told the Reporter.

The last film of the series, Fast Five, grossed an astounding $626 million worldwide and brought in new star power from Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, as well as brought back Michelle Rodriguez and Eva Mendes from earlier films.

“We have to pay off this story, we have to service all of these character relationships, and when we started mapping all that out it just went beyond 110 pages,” Diesel explained. “The studio said, ‘You can’t fit all that story in one damn movie!’"
