The Miami Heat star is ready to make it official.
LeBron James has joined the ever-growing list of celebrities getting engaged, including Aretha Franklin and Steven Tyler.
"My girl, she's very excited," James said Sunday night after he and the Miami Heat beat Charlotte 129-90. "She would love to answer more questions about it than me. But she's happy, my family's happy and that's what it's about."
James and longtime girlfriend Savannah Brinson had talked about tying the knot, according to The Associate Press, but on Friday (December 30) the baller proposed at a party celebrating both the New Year and his 27th birthday.
Dwyane Wade, James's Miami Heat teammate, was tasked with holding the ring.
"It's very nice," Wade said. "Very nice. They have good taste. ... To me, it felt like he was on his knee for an hour. It was probably like 35 seconds. It was great. I feel so happy for them and their entire family."
No wedding date had been announced at press time. James and Brinson have two sons together.
