The comedian responds angrily when asked about the Tea Party.
What is it they say about religion and politics? Looks like conservative writer Jason Mattera forgot the rule when he ambushed Chris Rock with a politically-charged question about conservative group the Tea Party at the Sundance Film Festival this past January.
Rock responded by trying to walk away, but when his path was blocked by people, he turned back to Mattera, grabbed his camera and "wrestled" it to the ground, according to TMZ.
Some background: Rock expressed his views about the Tea Party in an interview with Esquire last year, saying, "...when I see the Tea Party and all this stuff, it actually feels like racism’s almost over. Because this is the last — this is the act up before the sleep. They’re going crazy. They’re insane."
Evidently it's not over enough for the actor and comedian, judging from his extreme response. Rock isn't the only one to get worked up about the Tea Party, as one can see on any cable news show. The ultra-conservative political group, founded as a populist movement endorsing small government and opposition to taxes, has been accused of condoning racism and Islamophobia.
