First he helped to fight off vampires, now it soon might be time for Anthony Mackie to suit up to help save the world.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 33-year-old actor is currently in negotiations to star in the Captain America: The First Avenger sequel, Captain America: The Winter Soldier. While the film’s plot is currently under wraps, Joe and Anthony Russo will direct the movie and Chris Evans will again star in the title role.

Marvel would not comment on character details, but it’s rumored that Mackie will play Falcon — one of the first Black American superheroes in comic-book history. Falcon’s alter ego, Sam Wilson, is a Harlem-based man who was Captain America’s partner. In the 1970s, the two shared many street adventures. Not only does Falcon get his powers from a suit that allows him to fly and increases his strength, he can also telepathically talk to birds.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier
will be released April 4, 2014.
