La Toya Jackson Scores Reality Show on OWN

PLUS: Katherine Jackson admits she was tricked into hiding?

Inquiring minds finally have an answer for why La Toya Jackson has been conspicuously absent from the drama surrounding her family in the past two weeks.
The typically attention-hungry Jackson sibling has landed her very own reality show on Oprah Winfrey's OWN network titled Life With La Toya. The series will aim to give audiences an "up close and personal look" at Jackson's lifestyle as she "juggles the many demands of her famous family, finding time for lifelong friends and dealing with a growing entertainment business empire."

"I am so pleased to be working with television legend Oprah Winfrey and to be a part of the OWN family...This will be one of the most exciting adventures of my life," La Toya said in a statement.
Life With La Toya will premiere on OWN in 2013.
Meanwhile, her personal life suffers no shortage of drama to be explored in the series. The Jackson family civil war seems to be nearing a truce, but Katherine Jackson may have dropped yet another bomb in a statement given to the judge in her custody case today.
In a sworn declaration obtained by TMZ, the 82-year-old admitted she did not know she would be diverted to Arizona when she left her Calabasas, California, home in early June with plans to drive to Albuquerque, New Mexico, to attend a Jacksons "Unity Tour" concert.
According to her statement, Katherine said an unnamed doctor showed up at her home just prior to her departure and urged her to fly instead of drive to New Mexico. Somehow, she says, she wound up in Tuscon, posted up at the luxury Miraval Resort by her children, who "took her to a spa...because she had high blood pressure."
Katherine says her phone and iPad were taken away, and the in-room television and phone were disconnected. As for her grandchildren, Katherine says she was told they were "fine" and had no clue about the media frenzy surrounding her disappearance. She didn't even know a missing person's report was filed for her.
This contradicts Katherine's televised statement on ABC's Nightline, when she said she wilfully gave up her phone in order to rest under doctor's orders.
It remains to be seen what kind of impact this statement will have on Randy Jackson's plan to contest Michael Jackson's will, but his plot seems to be falling apart at the seams with his siblings defecting one-by-one.
