She remained in the hospital nearly two months following the actor’s heart attack.
As the aftermath of Michael Clarke Duncan’s death leaves both his loved ones and fans shaken, new details have emerged about the actor’s last two months of life in a hospital following his heart attack this past July.
People.com is reporting that Duncan never fully recovered from his cardiac episode, and that his fiancée Omarosa Manigault remained at his hospital bedside continuously for 50 days.
“She was literally there every second,” a source told People. And with the actor’s passing the source continued, “She is a strong woman who is full of faith, but right now she is heartbroken.”
TMZ is reporting that the initial five minutes Duncan’s body went without oxygen, before Manigault was able to restart his heart, caused major brain damage. After that, what followed was a slow decline in his health, which included kidney and pancreas problems plus high blood pressure. Eventually the actor’s body shut down.
Reports have also surfaced that a second cardiac episode in the hospital may have killed the actor, but Duncan’s family was adamant about not taking the actor off life support.
Manigault is now making Duncan’s funeral arrangements at Forest Lawn Cemetery according to TMZ, which is the final resting place of Michael Jackson, Nat King Cole and The Jeffersons’ star Isabel Sanford.
Even in grief, Omarosa made time to Tweet the following message to her followers, “Thank you for your outpouring of love and support for my beloved Michael…He will truly be missed!”
