Life is often compared to the game of chess with winners being the most strategic. 

 

The new film Brooklyn Castle embraces this theme, diving into the world of this competitive game as it shapes the lives of inner-city teens. Five members of a junior high school chess team are the focus of this documentary, which tells the story of how these working-class and poor youth face life challenges — all while being a part of their school’s champion chess team. Follow the lives of these kids as they deal with the ups and downs of the game of their life.
