For his first acting role outside of his own films, Tyler Perry steps into some pretty intimidating shoes playing shrewd detective Alex Cross, a role originated by Morgan Freeman. Perry jumps into his first action role, transforming himself into the super-cop who will take the law into his own hands against a killer out to destroy him and his family.
The film mogul sat down with BET.com to discuss what it took for him to become this beloved character and how it felt to follow the Oscar-winning actor (Freeman) into the role.
Alex Cross arrives in theaters October 19.
