TV News: Meagan Good's Deception Gets Premiere Date; Scandal Picked Up For Full Season

Kerry Washington’s political soap gets upped to 22 episodes.

Meagan Good’s highly-anticipated drama series Deception finally has a premiere date. The drama, which also stars Laz AlonsoVictor Garber and Tate Donovan, is slated to premiere on NBC this coming January.


Deception, about the daughter of a maid who returns to her home years later as an undercover agent intent on solving the murder of a wealthy heiress, has gone through several name changes. The series was previous called Infamous and before that Notorious.

Meanwhile, Entertainment Weekly reports that Kerry Washington’s political drama Scandal will return for a sophomore season with 22 episodes, a big jump from the original order of just thirteen. The Shonda Rhimes-produced series was a hit for ABC in its first season, averaging 8.1 million viewers weekly.
