Audiences feasted on the offerings at the box office over Thanksgiving weekend, breaking records and bringing in big bucks for Breaking DawnSkyfall and Lincoln. The three recurring films took the majority of box-office cake over the long weekend, with Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part Two easily claiming the top spot for $64 million over five days.

Skyfall came in second place with $51 million and Steven Spielberg's Lincoln took third with $34.1 million.

Among new films, Life of Pi did better than expected with a $30.2 million take and a bunch of stellar reviews. Bradley Cooper's buzz-worthy Silver Linings Playbook earned more than $5 million in limited release. The film is already being described by critics and insiders as a shoo-in for the Oscars.

Next week, Brad Pitt's Killing Them Softly will try to make an impression in an already-crowded Oscar race.
