Bobbi Kristina and Nick Gordon Call Off Engagement

Couple announces break-up via Twitter.

A month after revealing their engagement, Bobbi Kristina Brown and Nick Gordon’s plan to wed has been called off. According to Us Weekly, a source confirmed the break up, saying: "They did split. It will come out in the show [The Houstons: On Our Own].”

The source explained “it has to do a lot with the family not liking Nick, considering he was a godson and then they became a couple. I'm sure there is a lot of, 'Would Whitney be okay with this?' going around."
Gordon seemed to be announcing his split with the daughter of the late  Whitney Houston when he tweeted, "[Bobbi Kristina] and I are not engaged or dating. Just close like we have always been." To which Bobbi Kristina tweeted: "I guess it's time for me to follow what mom and the Lord put out on this path for me. Thankful. Mom. XXO."

Not one to miss an opportunity, the executive producer of The Houstons also responded to Gordon’s break-up tweet, saying: "Watch to see how it all unfolds on The Houstons on Lifetime TV."

Reports of the break up come as both endure a challenging week. On Wednesday, Bobbi Kristina was involved in a serious car accident when she lost control of her vehicle and drove down an embankment. She was unharmed. Hours later, Gordon was arrested for reckless driving. Alpharetta, Georgia, police clocked the 22-year-old going 82 mph in a 35 mph zone.
