Laurence Fishburne Files Restraining Order Against Alleged Stalker
Laurence Fishburne appears to be the victim of an unsettling crime. TMZ is reporting that Fishburne had to file a restraining order against a man who demanded the actor move out of his own house.
On New Year’s Day, a person named Anthony Francis showed up at the Matrix star's home claiming that he owned it and stating the Fishburnes were living there illegally.
In legal documents, police told Fishburne that Francis was just released from prison on Christmas Day after serving time for cyberstalking and making criminal threats. Francis called the Los Angeles Police Department approximately two weeks ago claiming he owned the Fishburne residence.
According to documents, the letter Francis left at Fishburne’s home included the statement; “You are to leave this house immediately. This means all tenants are to evacuate ASAP.”
But it seems at least now Fishburne and his family can enjoy some peace. With the restraining order in place, Francis is not allowed to come within 100 yards of Fishburne, his wife or daughter. He is also not allowed anywhere near the actor’s home.
