Academy Award-nominated actor Terrence Howard stars in the new action crime thriller Dead Man Down. In the film, Howard plays Alphonse, a criminal who is the target of a revenge plot by a pensive underling (Colin Farrell).

In a chat with BET.com, Howard muses about what it was like to tackle such a charming, yet conniving role. He also dispensed some helpful and humbling advice for newly-minted child star and fellow Oscar nominee Quvenzhané Wallis.

Dead Man Down hits theaters March 8.
