Lamar Odom, Khloe Kardashian Accused of Charity Fraud

Records show none of the $2.2 million raised went to cancer research, as promised.

Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom are facing accusations that they defrauded hundreds of people who donated money to their charity Cathy's Kids. The mission statement of the charity was to provide opportunities for underprivileged youth and donate money for cancer research. Started in the name of Odom's mother, who died of cancer when he was 12, Cathy's Kids has raised $2.2 million since its inception.
ESPN's Outside the Lines has obtained records that none of the millions raised actually went to cancer research. However, $1.3 million did go to funding two "elite" basketball teams, but the beneficiaries were presumably, as TMZ points out, kids who were already on the radar of colleges and NBA scouts.
As for the remaining $900,000, ESPN claims it has not been able to track the whereabouts of the dough. Odom recently sat down with producers from ESPN, but brushed off questions about the misallocated funds. He maintained that most of the money came from his pocket, despite evidence of solicitation from both his website and Khloe Kardashian's website.
Kardashian and Odom, meanwhile, deny the implications of wrongdoing, saying "not one penny went to help Lamar personally or any member of his family."
Hopefully those who donated to the charity will have some answers soon.
