The director isn't amused by Jones' April Fool's gag.
Orlando Jones attempted to play a prank on Tyler Perry, but the multimillion dollar director isn't laughing.
Jones put out a statement last week, complete with a video of himself in drag, claiming he is taking over Perry's beloved Madea character so the filmmaker can focus on other projects. The press release came complete with statements from execs at Perry's distribution company, Lionsgate, and quotes from the famed director himself.
Now, Perry is saying the actor pushed the joke a bit too far. "That was an April Fool's joke that HE did. Not true, and not funny," Perry told S2S Magazine publisher Jamie Foster Brown in a text message. "When I'm done with Madea, she's done."
Jones kept the joke alive for several days, consistently retweeting the press release. Guess he'll have to find another use for his wig and padded bra.
